Yes, and I managed to find out a bit about a couple of the transmitters, but
so far, nothing about the receivers.
The TS-306/ARW was specifically designed to test and align the tone
oscillator circuits in the transmitters, and the tone-controlled circuits in the
receivers.
The receivers were AN/ARW-2, 14, 17, 35, and 37.
Transmitters were AN/ARW-3, 13, and 34.
I found photos and some specs on the AN/ARW-3 and 34, but nothing really
helpful, and nothing on the receivers at all.
The only real difference between the AN/ARW-3 and AN/ARW-34 tranmitters
is the frequency coverage. The ARW-3 outputs 25 watts, and there is an
accessory amplifier that outputs 250 watts. The ARW-34 outputs 10 watts,
and its accessory amplifier can also output 250 watts.
All that gear was supplied by Link.
The PDF also mentions that although there are 10 channels of audio, each
of which can control one device, no more than 3 channels should be used at
any one time.
The manuals for these are the AN16-30, versions of which are specific to
each of the two models I mentioned above.
The PDF file I found on them has the date 1958 printed in it.
I have no data at all on exactly when they were used, or in what equipment,
but there was a very short, not very informative, note which mentioned
missles. Hawkeye, I think.
