The West Coast Military Radio Collectors Group will be conducting a joint
communications exercise with the Maritime Historical Radio Society on
Saturday 4MAY13. Maritime station KSM in Bolinas CA will be transmitting
CW and RATT encrypted messages to the MRCG members at our annual event at
Camp San Luis Obispo CA.
This is a one-way broadcast consisting of 5 letter cypher groups and will
be sent on the usual KSM commercial frequencies. Details of this exercise
can be found in the MRCG FRAG Order located here:
http://www.n6cc.com/temporary-file
(Note: Station KSM is authorized to transmit cyphers unlike Amateur Radio
stations in the US. Watch for an announcement on their website)
All ships, stations and aircraft are invited to participate. You don't
need a WWII vintage M-209 crypto device to participate. You can just copy
the CW and/or RATT cypher groups for practice. If you don't have an M-209,
you can use the very cool M-209 Simulator on your computer to do the actual
decoding. http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/m209sim.htm
See Mark's NF6X webpage for M-209 details as well as the public Keylist for
setting up the M-209 and decoding these messages here: www.nf6x.net.
