Hello Ken,

It will depend on the kind of plastic. If it's PVC, eventually it will 
dissolve in its own un-released solvents and the wire will cut straight 
through. It it's Teflon, that is a little better, but it will deform if 
there is any pressure on the side wall. If it's Kapton (poly-imide) it 
should last well through the night.

The other problem you need to consider is the inductance of the leads - they 
won't be equal. I assume the original capacitor had all leads coming out one 
end. The leads to the upper capacitor will be longer and have a lower self 
resonance then the shorter. You could equalise them by having all leads come 
out in the middle of the stack to go the bottom terminals.
