It had only the VHF R-28 and either the T-23 or T-126/ARC-5,
as one would expect.  That's not petite, especially when one
includes the MD-7 and DY-8, but still it's smaller and lighter
than any other US military VHF set in 1947.  I suspect it was
the only radio of any kind in the X-1.

There are many here much more knowledgeable who can cite the
web URL that had pictures of the equipment along side the
X-1.  I seem to recall there were pictures of the custom
radio set controls which showed a channel selector as the
only control.  The AN/ARC-5 requires no transmitter control
box/panel if only one transmitter is in the system, so a
channel A/B/C/D selector would be all that should have been
there.

I'm sure someone will recall that URL.
