Mike's commentary is probably the basis for the facts.  I have a Navy 
training manual (original issuance) for enlisted radio personnel.  The 
title, "Aircraft Radio Equipment" (dates February 1944).  In this book 
includes transmitters GF-series, GP,  GO-9, ATA, and the ATC and gives 
tuning and operating basics.  No other transmitters are mentioned.  The 
receivers listed are the RU, RA, RAV, RAT, and RA-1B.  The DU and MN-26 
DF receivers are also included.  Strangely, the ARB is not mentioned?
