It does indeed, Todd. I have some examples here in the slash and burn
pile that have scratches on them from those "ears" on the bracket that
are supposed to intercept the slot between cover and base. They seem to
be useful for two thing these days...display or with already modified
units. I gave mine to someone who wanted it for the latter. I just use
a standard rear connector from a rack, with an aluminum backshell to
capture the cable. Back in the day, scratches weren't something to
worry about too much, though it was frowned upon by the Navy Air arm
with their concern about salt spray damage on carrier aircraft equipment.
