I guess that gets to the point of disagreement, Dave. The second group is
unknown to you beyond seeing some early/isolated example of their work. You
have selected a few examples overall as being 'worthy' of your acceptance,
explained away the overall impact of the group creating the demand
responsible for what we have today as 'accidental', and without knowing
anything more of where this interest lead group number two and what
innovations or improvements we all enjoy due to their involvement, labeled
them as 'vandals'.
Now, some might call that elitist. I prefer to see that approach as "So
easy, a caveman can do it".
Opinion, of course. And all in good fun. (o:
Disagree or not, I am very thankful for your interest and involvement with
this gear, all the work you've done in making this equipment useable again
with simple modifications, and for sharing your knowledge and experience
with the group. I attribute the vast amount of my knowledge to folks like
you, Mike Hanz, Mike Morrow, Gordon White, Ken Gordon, and a very few
others. That first BC-455B I hacked up in 1979 was the spark that lit the
fire of interest in me to learn more and pursue these rigs. You guys are
the blacksmith's bellows that fan the flames.
