Well, OK I guess if resale value is one's primary concern.  Last time  
I checked back home significant numbers  of the sporterized 1903s (and  
Enfields) were still admirably serving the purpose for which the  
original mods were undertaken.  Just so my Navy RDQ (AR-88) recapped  
and with a product detector and AGC upgrades added.
