John,

this is a new one to me - but I totally agree with you.

What you say supports the point I have made many times to those 
interested in vintage electronics that you cannot - must not - rely on 
the "institutions" to safeguard our history and heritage.

By "institutions" I am referring to any company, body, museum, group, 
etc, that is set up to do anything other than preserve and explore that 
history/heritage.   Google's main aim is to make money, not preserve 
history.
