... And you may recall that the suspension system of the Soviet T-34 
tank was world-class and was designed by an American. J. Walter 
Christie, and sold to Russia after the U.S. Army said it was not 
interested. In 1932 Christie collaborated with American racing car 
builder, Harry A. Miller, who designed the engine. George Patton was on 
the committee thatlooked at the Christie design, and supported it, but 
the Army turned it down. The first buyer was the Shah of Iran, then the 
Russians. I have a blueprintof the engine.........
