I have a BC-221-AN and would be glad to take some
photos if that is of any help. It does NOT have a pilot
light on the front panel. Mine has an AC power supply in
the battery compartment. It has a neon lamp on the switch
assembly on the attached cord. I would be surprised at using
an indicator lamp where conserving battery power is of
concern.
