Hi Ken - Yep the GRC-109 is a fun radio, probably my favorite.  Some
GRC-109 adventures here:

I guess in 5 lifetimes my GRC-109 (and I) will be in a landfill someplace.
But come to think of it, the GRC-109 was DESIGNED to be buried in the
ground for extended periods!  When Indiana Jones digs it up, it will
probably still work!   LOL

Good idea on cranking the G-43 hand generator.  The Brits and Swedes and
others figured out to make their field generators LEG powered, unlike our
Armstrong methods. They did it right the first time!
