Jeep,

The E-17 is Type 15, although I haven't been able to determine what suffix
letter (later than 15F, though), . And the left bay WILL accomodate a
standard Command Set receiver. Type 12 receivers are the ones powered from the
front. I'm looking at the A.R.C. Type 15D Nav Equip manual, which
specifically says that the A.R.C. R-13B receiver will fit any SCR-274-N, AN/ARC-5 or
ARA receiver rack. The right bay, of course, will not accomodate any of the
rear connector equipped receivers.

The only cross ref information I have found in either the A.R.C. Type 15D
manual or any of the AN/ARN-30 manuals (A through E) is one note that says
AN/ARN-30D and E are A.R.C. Type 15F. The Type 15D manual says that the
two-place mount used is an E-14. There was also an E-13B. All three look
basically the same. The AN/ARN-30 (the unlettered model) TM says that AN/ARC-30
is A.R.C. Type 15C and that R-445/ARN-30 is A.R.C. R-13B. I have a note
(source forgotten) in my database that says the original R-13 was a reworked
R-112/ARC-5 (and painted black) and has a front panel mounted tuning dial and
plug in box. AN/ARN-30 also had a third electronic unit called
Filter-Amplifier AM-609/ARN-30 which looks like Type 12 gear (no rear connector).
