I guess "Uncle Stupid" is striking again! Wonder what the military aircraft
industry is using as a substitute?

Reminds me of trying to find Merthiolate (Tincture of Merthiolate)
nowadays!

Subject: [ARC5] CW Use in Fighters

I understand that while US Nondirectional Beacons in the 200-400 KHZ range
use modulated tones for their Morse ID's, that at least some foreign NDBs
use actual CW, requiring the use of a BFO in the receiver. That may have
influenced the inclusion of BFOs in US sets. Some commercial ADF's have a
BFO as well.

And speaking of Verboten Materials, our supply of Zinc Chromate paint is
drying up as well. About the only place you can get it any more is at boat
stores and they have to get it from Canada.
