A great picture of the GO-? liaison transmitter in that display is shown
at http://hydroz.net/consolidated_pby/cutaway_display/int-07.html .

Although it is identified on some websites as a GO-9 (Westinghouse), it
most definitely is NOT a GO-9.

An examination of the panel name plates where the manufacturer would be
seems to show two words, with the last being "Electric".

That means it could be a Western Electric GO-1 (1934) or GO-2 (1935)
transmitter (0.3 to 13.575 MHz), or a General Electric GO-4 (1938),
GO-5 (1939), or GO-6 (1939) transmitter (0.3 to 26.5 MHz). I lean toward
believing it is Western Electric GO-2, though 1934/1935 gear seems too
early for the display. If it's a General Electric model, it's too bad
there isn't a RAT-1 present to provide the matching 13.5 to 27.0 MHz
coverage that the two RU-* liaison receivers (0.195 to 13.575 MHz) lacked.

Does anyone on the list have access to this display enough to positively
identify the GO-* model? In any event, GO-* transmitters other than the
last (GO-9) are extreme rarities in the same league as complete RAV sets,
having been made in similar or fewer quantity. It is very likely that
the GO-* model in the PBY display is truly unique.

What I wouldn't give for a General Electric GO-6 transmitter (0.3 to
26.5 MHz) with the matching General Electric RAX-1 receivers (0.2 to
27.0 MHz)!
