I have the 'new' BC-455B and that small, flat cover is the sheet metal
that is missing. My radio is dressed in black. Most of the screws are
missing, too. I was planning to order the screws as some of the list
members have pointed to different sources for those. I am planning to
buy new screws by the 100 count pack as I have a few missing from the
low frequency R-23 and BC-453 radios (qty 4) I have here AND I will be
acquiring at least one of these receivers to cover the 80 meter band.
Each radio has a lot of screws missing (except one R-23 that arrived
here with all the screws in place). After that I will be looking for
transmitters so that I can use a set of those radios in my ham shack.
I'm afraid these are like potato chips where "you can't eat just one".
Licky me...they are small <grin>.
