David:

In regards to the TR9D, I did a little research in my airplane books and found a couple of cutaway drawings of Hawker Hurricanes. The drawing of the Mark IIC has the radio labeled "TR9D/TR1133." The drawing of the Mark I says just "Radio" for a box in the same spot but has right next to it a box labeled "Accumulators."

The Mark I drawing came out in Sept 1940 but I think the Mark IIC drawing is much later.

Now, I am aware that the British call batteries "Accumulators" but I assumed they meant rechargeable batteries, not dry cells.

Anyway, does this mean that the TR9D always used dry cell batteries when used in airplanes?

Thanks, and beautiful job, by the way.
