[ARC5] British Use of HF

I read that when the British modified some Spitfires into Seafires for carrier operations they had to take the VHF equipment out and put HF in. The RN was not set up to use VHF, and they probably needed HF anyway for scouting ops. That may be why the Brits only had HF. And if they ferried the Mosquito over they would have needed HF for the Atlantic crossing. They sure could have used the HF/VHF ARC-5 setup!

If y'all go over to WWIIaircraftperformance.com you can read some of the Fighter Conference technical info as well as materials on other tests and evaluations - although not about the radios.
