My paternal grandparents summered in Hampton Bays, a short walk from where
the German sub put the spies ashore. It certainly wasnt a yuppie community
back then but I sure enjoyed my summers there complete with outhouse, a hand
pump for water and no electricity until around 1955.
My parents took me other times to Jones Beach and Point Lookout, I prefered
ocean to bay or fresh water and still do.
