I agree Les...It would be a great topic for a round table gathering with a few pitchers of Crownie to wash down the trail dust. Ohoo, let's not forget the Pizza. We must also look into what happened to all those Command rigs. I suspect this subject will take some time so it may take more that a few.

Bill: Now THAT would be a "find". I figure you'd have as much chance of finding something in Russia as anywhere.
I think "lend lease" is a very interesting topic.
The US nation was generous beyond imagination.
Generous with material, generous with the lives of many young men.
Amazing.

Can't say what went on in California but, in Seattle WA, we had blackout drills every now and then. Air Raid Warden would let you know if he saw any light emitting from your abode.
The Russian Lend Lease program ran until (about) 1949. It was a giveaway of about Nine Billion dollars worth of so called "Aid". A book titled "from Major Jordan's diaries" by Maj. George R Jordan USAAF, gives a pretty good eye opening account on
what went thru the "Pipeline" , during his watch, between Great Falls, MT; Fairbanks, AK and Russia, during WW2. Ton's of HF/VHF gear. Maybe we can find some NIB ARC-5's from there?
