hello , well , a friend of mine was a flight engineer on lancasters during ww2 . he wound up on canadian built ones which certainly had american radio gear. he recalls the squadron flying off to bomb the falaise gap . they were at low level and could see people waving at them . little did the wavers know that the entire squadron were listening to a BBC radio show , "much binding in the marsh" which was about a mythical RAF base , and very funny . this was coming in on the command radios on mf . alan
