So the LPS rep told you not to use LPS-1 because it will make watches run too fast? Sounds like the Beechcraft biz-jet rep who told me that the equivalent Cessna biz-jets were more susceptible to bird damage - in the rear end.

  Subject: [ARC5] Fine Lubricants

One of my very favorite lubricants is LPS-1. It is vegetable oiled based rather petroleum based like WD-40, does a great job of cleaning and lubricating fine mechanisms and displaces and repels water as well.

It is great for fixing scratchy volume controls. Unlike WD-40 it does not conduct electricity and short out electric components. LPS-1 is my first choice for lubing fine mechanisms.

But the LPS rep told us NOT to use LPS-1 to lubricate mechanical wristwatches. It will lube things so well that the watches will run too fast. I would imagine that is not a concern for radio gears.
