I tend to doubt that jet fighters had the ARN-7. The football antenna would have real problems surviving the speeds in a jet environment. The ARN-6 was probably the radio of choice; the little "black dot" on the tip of the F-80/T-33 nose is the radome for the ARN-6 loop.
