[ARC5] 18S-4 Now and Later - Clarification

Well, I received the beast by UPS today... I was double boxed the proper
way; the inner box is the original depot shipping carton (the unit was
refurbished in 1978). I'm pleasantly surprised: except for some minor dings
on the case, it is almost pristine inside. The 811's and the 813 are a bit
dusty, but the chassis, all the wiring and the components look very clean.
It's fully populated with all the receive/transmit crystals (all 20
channels). I can make a list of all the frequencies in the TX section, maybe
there is a way to find out what airlines had some company frequencies,
besides the standard aeronautical HF channels. The crystals range from just
under 3 MHz up to 18 Mhz. I found an original manual online at Abe Books
(Jeep, thanks, but now I don't need a copy...). In fact, I found a 618S-1
manual as well - which I needed - in the same store.
I'm still searching for the remote and the shock mount, but it may be a long
time before I can snag either or both of them... It shouldn't be a big deal
to build a remote just to put the radio on the air. Good project for the
winter!

Another thought: a Kiwa filter module can be inserted in the IF chain, with
no impedance matching needed, and due to the in-out built-in amps, there is
no insertion loss. It needs 4.5 - 36 VDC for power. Easy fix for the 18S-4!

I should have finished this sentence as "...the IF chain of the 18S-4A".
