If your screen shots show the waveform at each contact with respect to
ground, surely the flat line (ref zero) is the contacts in the closed condition,
meaning the rising trace at left is the contacts opening and the falling side
at right is them making??

The Radiotron Designer's Handbook by Langford-Smith has an excellent
chapter (32) on types of vibrator, the three methods of energizing the coil,
vibrator transformer design (it's a specialized subject of its own), the timing
capacitor, and hash elimination.
