[ARC5] The 6U8 -

That is used in many radios as the audio amp for the pentode section and get
run hard in some, otherwise its just a good general purpose tube.

I have a pair of HP-606A's and after the initial overhauls they have been
fine and used almost weekly for boatanchor service. The tender tube in them
is the 12B4A which often develops H-K leakage; I stashed several NIB away
before the audiophools discovered them. Adding a bucking transformer for the
complete service bench a few years ago has likely reduced having to repair
test equipment before I can repair radios and earn my keep! The bench now
runs at ~110-113VAC.
