Unless the devices say made in the USA, most newer are not, there is a 
marking workaround, since it is cheaper to manufacture in China.  Dog 
chews for instance may say: Product of USA, then  in mouse print; Made 
in China or the reverse.  Some parts are just not marked as to their 
origin.  Makes those parts made in the 70's, in Mexico look real 
good....  With many part companies being internationals, you just don't 
have any idea where they were actually made.

IMO  Have an Adjustable, High Voltage power supply, Metered, with a 
current limit handy; and test your parts.
