Ken,

I'd really like a copy of articles if you can find them.  I have several 
"dud" RF ammeters here with just thermocouple troubles.  Would like to 
breathe new life into them if possible.

Another local friend several years ago got a good assortment of small glass 
enclosed instrument thermocouples.  I did ask him if he was going to utilize 
them.  He didn't gave them away!

There were at least three articles in ER Magazine on making, replacing and
calibrating thermocouples in RF ammeters. One, authored by (I believe) a
ham in Australia, was quite thorough.

He restored several old military units, and showed how to make a welder for
the thermocouples.

I'll try to dig out the references as soon as I can.
