[ARC5] Collins 18S-4

   I got one years ago expecting it to have a nice receiver section.
Very poor receiver with fixed tuned channels. Crystals and jumpers determine
Transmit frequencies and tuning and receiver has multiple channels but LC
tuned. There are jumpers and settings on both inside and under large front 
cover.
Receive simple superheterodyne with broad IF. I guess so that if it was 
slightly
off frequency it would still receive. I was disappointed. Don't even recall 
what I did
with it.
   I suspect these were setup and tuned in shop before placing on aircraft.
It would be very difficult to do it otherwise.
  I think I sold it at Dayton.
Mine was not very heavy because it did not come with dynomotor.
