[ARC5] Opinions on ARR-7

The R-45/ARR-7 is a very nice receiver. There's a good write-up in the June 2012 ER. Also, there is a youtube video showing one in action:

The R-45/ARR-7 is very similar to the SX-28. However, it is far easier to work on. There are no leaky wax caps buried in the RF deck. Interestingly, most of the caps are .0082 mfd, which seems to be an odd value.
 
The audio stage is much different than the SX-28. It is not push-pull and there is no audio output xformer. Thus, this set works best with headphones.
 
I use mine for SWLing and it is more than adequate.
