Hi Gordon,

What I have from my reading and conversations with older veterans is
that our planes later in the war did outmaneuver the zero and even
earlier our tactical maneuvers defeated the Japanese pilots. It was
certainly NOT a walk in the park on Sunday afternoon. 

My own war was different from theirs (and some of our list members
included). Those who didn't survive the later wars are just as dead.
Effective insect repellent (DEET) makes it unnecessary even to consider
killing a mosquito.
