Yes, I recall seeing a SCR-718 indicator in a KC-135A back around 1976.   I recognized it from the Fair Radio catalog and also was astonished to see it.

And SCR-718 is shown in the 1966 vintage KC-135A pilot's manual, too.  It says it is installed on airplanes S/N 1 through 547.  The manual says that except in an emergency it will only be used over broad ocean areas not less than 50 miles off shore.  I guess that 440 mHZ signal would interfere with too many people.
