They were also used in the BOMARC for all the Section 41  AFT electronics: guidance and telemetry packages.  By the way, the telemetry RF output amplifier  used two 4-125A's, another tough tube.

IMHO, the submini tubes are the very, very best of the vacuum tubes. I have 
never had to replace any of those that have appeared in the equipment I 
own, which includes the RCA SRR-11/12/13 receivers.

Those tubes are really incredibly reliable and tough.

I suppose they would have to be since many were designed to be shot out of 
anti-aircraft guns in proximity fuses.

Tough little buggers.
