There is a big difference between a one time use design as a fuse and years 
of punishment aboard ship where the RCA SRR series was the worst tube 
shipboard radio ever built for reliability and ease of service.

The KW-32 crypto unit wasnt any better.

Rough seas and gunnery exercises always kept the ET's busy. OTOH the earlier 
RCA RBA/RBB/RBC family were almost indestructible.
