Yes, that's the stuff that dreams are made of!  There have been claims of buried Spitfires put away in Australia at the end of WWII for some time but searched and never found them.

But Spitfires are rare and valuable airplanes today for a good reason.  I understand they used magnesium alloy rivets and in order to make them airworthy to current standards you have to drill out all the rivets and replace them with AL ones.  Ouch!  You get to buy a "Spitfire kit", much disassembly required prior to reassembly.

Just hope that they have enough sense to take good notes and plenty of photos of the radio installations before they take them apart.
