[ARC5] ARC-5 Question

David,

Probably the easiest and cheapest way to get on the LF bands is to join the 600 meter experimental group and apply for an experimantal license:

If you wanted a commercial NDB you would have to fnd a friend that has a airstrip and apply to the FAA (or FCC?) for a license. These aviation NDB's are probably type accepted and would cost a pretty penny if you couldn't find a surplus beacon.

I bought a BC-453 from you years ago. I should power it up one of these days.

Regard's

I remember lots of fun logging MF and LF beacons back in the
1970s and 1980s. Alas, NDBs are being decommissioned quickly.
Not so many of them remaining these days.

Does anyone know how to apply to put an NDB on the air?
