[ARC5] That two pin connector RU and 183

Some more information on
that little two pin threaded connector.

It is also used on the HF AN/ARC-5 to provide
for a remote antenna meter current connection,
"(not normally supplied with AN/ARC-5)".

I found no reference to the remote meter, or
its cable in the manual, but since the receptacle
on the transmitter rack is marked with a + sign, I
am assuming that it also takes a 3146 connector.

Also, to add to the confusion, Mike H sent me a
photo of an earlier SCR-183 junction box, that
uses this two pin connector, however it is labeled
as requiring a "PL-77". But this is *not* the same
PL-77 as is used on the later SCR-183 sets. I think
I wouldn't be going too far out on limb by stating
that the Navy Type 77 would fit.

So, was this a mistake?

Did the Army have two different connectors labeled
PL-77, or did they rename the connector somewhere along
the line?

In any event, when acquiring parts for either the RU/GF
or SCR-183, this is something to watch out for, making sure
you are getting the right connector, either the Navy Type 77
or Army PL-77.

It also doesn't help that these two different connectors
served the same function, that is, to serve the antenna relay
in both these sets.
