Well, yeah. Makes sense to me. :-)

I need to check the dates against the Airmail Disaster of 1934 plus see if
there are any hints as to when and why there was a major corporate
rearrangement that put ARC at the top of the food chain.

The BC-AA-179 was like the GF receiver. That design was different at least
from the BC-A*-229 but I don't know about the 'tweeners. This is part of
why I want the schematics and parts lists for these systems. It's also a
good excuse to find a cute RA to help me ... ;-)

*nod* ... stability at last. Kinda sorta.

My BC-**-183 is a BQ or some such weirdness and I think Dave's is another
letter pair that doesn't begin with A. According to the manual it was used
as a heterodyne oscillator and as a frequency meter/signal generator kind of
like the BC-221 & LM only not as precise. In the B-15 picture, I think it's
used in the latter role since there's another box attached to the liaison
BC-AG-229 (assuming this isn't an SCR-185 instead) probably fulfills the
heterodyne oscillator (BFO) role in its place.

Which reminds me, at what point did the BC-224 come into the picture?

In a rather sneaky moment, I downloaded it but right now I'm still under the
influence of sedatives from some minor surgery earlier today (Thursday) and
didn't think to look there. (It doesn't help to type half asleep either
although I think I'm doing better now than usual. At least the Spill
Chucker is complaining less. :-) ) I should also look at Dave's expose on
the history of the initial models to see how it relates.

Yes, I definitely need an RA ... :-)
