Hi Mike
Thanks for the info, good stuff. I would have liked to connect the test set to the rack and not have to build a custom connector for the back of the radio, but I see that data will be lost for a couple of switch positions.

I picked up an I-84-B at the local ham fair and would
like to use it, can anyone point me to a write-up or
manual on what the switch positions are checking and what
the expected readings should be. Because the meter has
only one range, there must be some conversions tables to
determine an expected voltage or current reading. I've
been collecting pieces for years but haven't powered
anything up, this unit looks like a way to get started
(haven't found the time to build the many cables, only
need two with this unit).
The switch positions and readings are the same as the first five
positions for the I-104-A test set, Terry. FWIW, I scribbled some
random musings on the WWII command set test meters at http://aafradio.org/docs/Command_Set_Test.html
- the switch functions and readings are there as well. Cord CD-706,
which connects the test meter to the back of the receiver, is
described in detail.
