I think you've got the earliest piece of Heath-designed radio
gear.  Read story number 1 by one of its engineers at:

According to the above URL, the receiver was the MA-4A, built by
Meissner for Heath.

It would be interesting to see more mictures.  In some ways
it looks a little like the RCA AVT-111.  There was a dry-battery
version of the AVT-111.

Where did you get it?  It's a real landmark in Heath history.
