Those units were used in at least three different pieces of equipment, all of
which were search receivers for a very wide frequency range to detect radar
sets of the enemy.
The Navy had a very large such unit (I have forgotten the Rxx number), built
by Scott, of which I have two examples.
There were also at least two airborne versions, the APR-1 being one of
those.
These tuning units will work in all of the above receivers.
I have at least one of each of the tuning units, some NIB, that tune from
about 20 Mhz through at least 1000 Mhz. I don't remember the upper limits
for sure, although I think it MAY have been as high as 10,000 Mhz.
The UHF versions used diode mixers and no RF amp.
Some were motor tuned.
They are all beautifully built.
