First off, thank you for the rundown on the CDA-T, Mike. It's greatly
appreciated.

I actually did mean the Tx portion of the 18S-4 but forgot to mention that
part. My bad *self-smack* :-)

The Tx portion of the 18S-4 seems to draw its heritage from the T-412 right
down to the paired channels although the 18S-4's pairs have to be within 2%
of each other. If PanAm designed the CDA-T, I have to wonder if they - or
someone - didn't also go to Collins to see about something that would do the
same thing and fit the same space more or less but include a receiver in the
deal. (What was PanAm using for an Rx?) While I know it's a color of a
different horse, the Rx reminds me a lot of the TCS redesigned to run with a
24v B+.

The reason I'm curious is that I have an 18S-4 sitting idle and I've
wondered where it fit in the Grand Scheme of Things.

Best regards,
