This is more the Gherkin - or maybe Bread 'n Butter - version. :-D
Anyway, it was real and part of the ARA-2. According to my notes, it was
built by ARC under contract 74912. According to Ships 242A, an entire line
of receivers comparable to the ARA was supposed to be built but this is the
only one of which I have any record.

That's what all this info gathering is about, trying to do just that. While
the Noelle AV Project takes precedence, I took on this project after 3-4
people made the attempt and weren't able to complete it. The idea is to
break that cycle and put something out that satisfies everyone, at least a
little.
As we all know, my original publication was aimed toward the people who
needed to identify and wire up equipment, and was the first such ever to
gather everything in one place. Well, not everything since it only covered
the Type K and Type 12 equipment, and neither one of them completely. The
tables and lists will still be key in the new publication only greatly
expanded and corrected which means gathering details* lost, buried under
rocks and misfiled under Spam Recipes in a locked cabinet stored in the
forgotten fifth subbasement of a building razed to erect a new parking lot.
(And, yes, folks, I do like that kind of Douglas Adams-ish imagery.) The
same sort of details will go into the company's history as well as the
operational history of the equipment as far as I can take it.
* Some of you are holding that information, possibly without knowing it.
Just sayin', y'know? :-D
In any event, publication is the desired end result.
