[ARC5] AN73 Coax Connector?

This query about the antenna on the A-36 brings this
question to mind.

The A-36 was the dive bomber variant of the Allison
engined P-51, and from what I've been able to gather,
only saw combat in Sicily and Italy.

So, the question is this.

Did the wartime deployment of the SCR-522 and the move
to VHF occur in Italy at the same pace as in
England and Northern Europe?
