I wonder what the heck it went to.  It's way too long for, say, an airborne
ADF sense antenna.

Fred Chesson's page http://pages.cthome.net/fwc/ANTENNA.HTM identifies
the AN-73 as that seven-foot whip, but doesn't say what equipment is 
associated with it.  Fred's page also lists the AN-75 as a seven-foot
whip for the SCR-593.
