[ARC5] D-Day

I will never forget D-Day. I was 10 years old at the time and had already won a General Eisenhower medal for collecting 2000 lbs of newspapers for the scrap drive. In those days of gas rationing, food rationing, gold-star mother banners in at least one window on every street, air raid wardens on every block, war-bond drives, first aid classes, etc. everyone saved everything and made do with what they had. There was an actual home front in which everyone was, in some way, involved in the war effort, even 10 year old cub scouts such as myself. God bless those who serve now and I only wish they had more support than in just a few military towns around the country. I have difficulty in relating to today's cosumer economy while there is a war going on. Mike, W6MAB

Please take a minute to remember that D-Day was 67 years ago today.
Many were wounded or died to protect our freedoms, lest we forget.
Best,
-John
