I found a Taylor Modulation 5 Watt  80-40 Meter transmitter article in CQ, August, 1961, pages 56, 57, 114.
"A Modulator Powered Hybrid Transmitter" by Niel Iversen, W7PVF
Looks simple and straightforward.
