As others have said, VT-4C and VT-25 tubes can be acquired at  
reasonable prices, just keep your eyes and ears open and be patient.   
Also, an 801A is essentially the same thing as a VT-25 (10, 10Y) but  
goes for about the same price these days.

We have a couple of fully tubed BC-375s up and operating here in  
SOCAL, myself and NI6Q.  I run one of the few not-GE built 375s  
(Electrolux ?).
