If that is really an "A" variant, I and many others would certainly
love to see detailed photos of the set, especially readable
photos of the nomenclature tags inside and out.
If you can't post photos, can you please let us know what it says
on the plates?  Order numbers, dates etc.
Those that were ordered at the same time as SCR-274N
were order number 1508-NY-41 (the W.E. 274Ns were 1509-NY-41),
but those were, IIRC, "C" models. 
"E" variants are most common.  I've never seen an "A."
