Ed Zeranski and I were just musing about that one a couple of days ago.
Appears to be another one of a number of small instrumentation
transmitters that the Navy acquired in 1940 and 1941. Perhaps the
better known of the types that were purchased was the Doolittle Radio
Co. GWY-1 and GWY-2, which also used an 807 PA but had twin 6L6s for the
modulator, and did not include the receive function (example at
http://aafradio.org/sidebar/GWY-2.html ). You can see the
similarities. This particular example on ebay has the shock mount,
which is a bit unusual to find.
